Palm Springs, California

The Challenge

La Quinta Adobe in La Quinta is a vacation rental near Palm Springs, California near the Coachella Valley.    In a region with many world-glass resorts, hotels, and luxury residential rentals, an attractive but easy to use website was needed to both capture the essence of a desert vacation and the appeal of a private vacation rental for long-term guests, and to enable the homeowner to “show” the property to guests booking and traveling from distant locations, including foreign countries.

The homeowner has listed the property with paid vacation rental websites which handled calendaring and booking, but the booking site not adequately “show” the property with enhanced galleries, nor answer questions for the potential guests, nor tell the potentials much about the location, amenities, nearby attractions, useful tools or tips.

Because many guests to La Quinta Adobe and the Palm Springs region visit from foreign countries during their winter seasons, intending to stay for months at a time, those guests needed a website that treated them more like new neighbors in the community, instead of short-term hotel guests.

The Solution

We recommended that the homeowner let us build a site that not only showcased his property, but the community as a whole, including Palm Springs festivals, events, restaurants, shopping districts, airports, medical services, and more.

We created a website presence for the vacation rental, researched the community resources long-term guests would need, and published the new site.  The homeowner uses the website as a companion to the booking partner site he continues to use for calendaring.

For the graphics, we noted the home is enhanced by numerous Southwestern and Mexican artistic touches, including custom Mexican tile throughout.

We designed the theme around this unique art form, making sure to reflect the tile artwork on the site and we designed a logo to match.

The New Website

Built From the Ground Up

We built the entire website from the ground up, with a mobile-friendly theme, plug-ins, caching, proper widgets, and graphics. We included numerous resources for the resort community.

Mobile Refresh

The website immediately boosted online visits from guests from Canada and as far away as Germany, France and more, using desktops, smart phones, tablets and laptops. It also helped guests make a decision to book this vacation rental over competing destinations.

Increased Revenue

The website enabled the homeowner to more effectively “show” the property to potential guests while continuing to use his existing booking system partner. Guests reported back that even after they reserved and moved into the vacation rental, the website was useful to find medical providers, churches, restaurants, and shopping districts.  One guest pronounced it “the most useful website for a rental we’ve ever seen.”

As part of our all-inclusive plan, our agency checks and maintains the website every month throughout the year, updating themes and plug-ins, monitoring contact forms and comment fields, clearing cache and testing page load time.
